THE BASEMALL | Certificate of Authenticity

What is a Certificate of Authenticity?

A Certificate of Authenticity, or COA, is documentation that accompanies autographed memorabilia. It identifies the organization that examined the signature and records its assessment of authenticity. Some certificates or labels include a number that buyers can check with the named authenticator. The COA documents the signature. It does not imply that a team or league endorses the item.

Authentication at THE BASEMALL

THE BASEMALL | Signature Series features autographed jerseys from baseball’s fan favorites-/All-Stars, Hall of Famers, and other standout players. The authenticator varies by item. Across our signed-jersey listings, names include JSA, PSA/DNA, Beckett/BAS, Fanatics, and TriStar. Check the individual product listing for the authenticator identified for that item. Do not assume that every collectible is certified by the same company.

What to check before buying

Read the product title and description for the named authenticator and any details about the COA. Where a certification number is provided, use the named authenticator’s own verification service to check it. If you need to confirm what documentation accompanies a particular item, contact us before ordering so we can check that listing with you.

Authentication applies to the signature, not to an implied affiliation with a professional team, league, or jersey manufacturer. Item details, presentation, and documentation can vary, so the specific product listing is your best guide.
